UkeJam began in January 2011 as the brainchild of Adam Wolters and Penny Fazackerley. Starting off as a small group of musicians who all owned ukuleles
and fancied having a jam in a pub, UkeJam has grown in numbers, seeing up to 35 members turn up at each session.
Started in January 2011, UkeJam have risen to local fame, with the help of their first gig alongside the incredibly talented Charley Farley Sunday Four at the Woking Canal Festival, where they acted as the band's ukulele orchestra. Since then, they have gradually climbed the musical ranks, playing Guilfest's acoustic stage and vintage stage in 2011 and 2012, supported the incredible bluegrass band Hayseed Dixie at The Boileroom's 5th birthday celebrations, supported for Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer and played their first headline slot at Livestock in 2012!
They are a group not to be missed, and if you fancy getting involved yourself, head down to The Royal Oak in Guildford, bring your uke, and soak up the atmosphere of musical goodness!
Adam Wolters and Penny Fazackerley are both music teachers and gigging musicians, who have gigged in many bands over the years.
Adam is currently in the fantastic skiffle band Charley Farley Sunday Four,
who received the Best New Band award at Guilfest 2010.
Adam has also played with The Martin Harley Band, and the 'Mooks Of Hazard' (who supported The Pogues).
Penny is currently a singer in the band T-34 with comedian Al Murray,
and played Download festival in 2010 and 2011.
Penny is also in a function band called Everyday People, and sings in a band with Peter Falconer.
